RURAL
RECONSTRUCTION FOUNDATION
RRF
is a philanthropic organization, working for the vulnerable people
in the demos to expand the helping hand with the view to grow
up the human being physically, mentally, socially and spiritually
with the fundamental needs through alleviating the poverty of
Bangladesh. Rural Reconstruction Foundation is the acronym of
RRF. It is a non-governmental, non-profitable, non-political and
non-sectarian voluntary development organization which was established
on March 20, 1982 aiming at promotion of socio-economic emancipation
of the under privileged in the south western part of the country
in Bangladesh. It was founded by Mr. Philip Biswas and Mrs. Rita
P. Biswas of Jessore.
The
formation of RRF is based on the trust on verse of Holy Gospel
"Love Your Neighbor as Thyself" which aspires for a
just society where every individual irrespective to race, color,
caste and religion shall have equitable shares of resources and
right in the community.
RRF strongly trusts on "Holistic Approach" for genuine
development of the community through people active participatory
process in planning, decision making, implementation etc. With
this clear vision, RRF has been working with both rural and urban
under privileged for their socio-economic emancipation with package
of programs.
Interpretation of the RRF Logo:
RRF is a Philanthropic organization which is being formed based
on the verse of Holy Scripture "Love your Neighbor as thyself".
With the basis of the theme the logo has indomitable meaning that
rural people will eradicate the poverty through different crops
and builds a house to live with making conducive environment and
alleviate the poverty.
VISION
:
RRF works with the vision of Bangladesh society will be economically
productive and equitable, socially just, environmentally sound
and genuinely democratic. And establish a poverty free society.
MISSION
:
The commitment of RRF is based on comprehensive development of
underprivileged men, women, youths and children towards establishing
a civil society with respect of full democracy, liberty, equality,
justice, peace and solidarity.
GOAL
:
To create awareness among the intended beneficiaries about socio-economic
realities, the root causes of their poverty to upgrade their social
status through increasing self- reliance and dignity .
OBJECTIVES :
The general objectives of RRF are to :
- Pave
the way to make poverty free society.
- Build
awareness among the partner people and organize them into
groups for economic and social development activities as well
as awareness on human rights.
- Stimulate
and promote development of the rural poor masses through self-scale
income rising activities.
- Conduct
functional literacy schools for the illiterate adult s and
feeder schools for the non-school going and dropout children.
- Create
opportunities for preventive, curative and nutritional health
facilities for the poor people in the rural areas.
- Arrange
different types of training, workshop, seminar on population
problems, family planning, education, environment, human rights,
legal aid, women development, development process, strengthening
civil society, tree plantation, anti-drug abuse etc.
- Provide
legal assistance to women against via lotion and injustice.
- Create
job opportunity in the field of agriculture, fisheries, handicrafts,
livestock, small cottage industries etc for raising income
and upgrade the standard of lives.
- Provide
credit support for income generating activities for self -employment
- Assist
people with relief and rehabilitation works during natural
or man made calamities and emergencies
- Conduct
research exclusively on poverty alleviation, human resource
development, children trafficking, underprivileged mothers
and children.
- To provide
financial support to for the deprived people in the society.
- Help
to create conducive environment to live peacefully in the
society.
- Grow
up the human being physically mentally, socially and spiritually
and manifesting the betterment of society.

STRUCTURE
:
RRF General Body (GB) consists of 21s who elects a seven (7) members
Governing Body (GB) for five (5) years period to function. The
Executive Director is an Ex-officio to function as the Chief Functionary
of the Foundation. He appoints its counterparts with consultation
of the Governing Body.
