Urban Micro Credit (UMC)
RRF started Micro
Credit Program in order to lessen poverty and look up the quality
of the rural lives by creation of convenience of the poor people
into credit for their own income generation projects towards socio-economic
self-reliance. This program was introduced in 1992 with the financial
support of Pally Karma Shahyak Foundation (PKSF).
Goal:
The goal of the project is to initiate and encourage deprived
people to access in credit for lessening the poverty and eradicate
the scarcity from the society.
Objectives
:
The objectives of this program are as follows:
- Promotion of accessibility of
poor people into the credit program for income generation projects.
- Creation of self-employment
and income generation.
- Organizing the rural poor into
groups and accumulation of savings for their own fund.
- To make the poor farmers self-development
in order to save them from the high interest of the money lenders.
- Lessen the poverty from the
society with the income generating fund.
- Manifesting the betterment of
rural and underprivileged people in the society.
- To involve the women in development
project or generating income for their respective families as
a means of empowerment are as follows.
